I took a contract a few years ago that involved spending a lot of time in an office, and in long, boring meetings. There was one colleague, however, who used to do his meetings while walking around the block.

We would meet near the lift, and the meeting would start immediately. It never took more than 25 minutes, and we would also have time to grab a coffee and still be discussing the issue at hand while we were in the queue.

Taking a 25-minute walk around the block or to a nearby park will not only provide time to debrief, but it will also give you additional benefits such as the fresh air and perspective that come just from moving around and out of the office.
